Looking for some fun and unique things to do in Philly this weekend? We’ve got you covered.

Flannel Fest

Philadelphians can break out their best plaid and get ready to sip, because Flannel Fest is back in town.

Set for Sunday, Nov. 2 (noon to 5 p.m.), this annual event brings together over a thousand hungry and thirsty locals to the Braid Mill (who co-hosts the event with local event production agency, LIVE 24HRS) to try out neighborhood food trucks, craft brews, live performances, and family-friendly activities—both indoors and outdoors.

The event has pay-what-you-wish admission and will take place rain or shine.

Happy Birthday Frank! at Frankie’s Summer Club

It’s the last weekend to check out Frankie’s Summer Club before it closes for the season. To celebrate in style, locals can head to the venue this Saturday (Nov. 1) at 4 p.m. for a collaboration with Hidden City Philadelphia to commemorate the birthday of the historic Philadelphia architect, Frank Furness.

The event will feature cake, games, balloons, and live jazz to honor the namesake of the brick-and-mortar building they’re situated behind. While there, locals can also try a selection of natural wines, beer, cocktails and soft drinks, plus bites from Irwin’s like boccocini mozerella, North Fork potato chips, castelvetrano olives and a mix of different soft serve cups.

CraftNOW Create

Every November, CraftNOW kicks off CraftMonth with their fan-favorite Create event, which will be in full swing this Saturday (Nov. 1) at the Smith Memorial Playground. The free experience for elementary-age students provides hands-on demonstrations with step-by-step instructions on how to create seven different craft projects.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., activities will be set up on their wrap-around porch and immediately in front of the Playhouse. While there, kiddos can also enjoy the playhouse and playground at free range.

Under the theme of ‘Intention’, CraftMonth overall will highlight different exhibits across the city’s galleries/museums and other inventive pop-ups. The theme will explore the conscious choices behind artistic creation, asking why creatives make art and how meaning is shaped through materials and processes. A full schedule of events can be found online.

Fintastic Pumpkin Glow Festival at the CAA

Its your last chance to check out this fall activation at the CAA (the experience runs until Nov. 2). The Festival features a collection of glowing gourds in every shape, size, and species shining above the surface or illuminating the depths among sharks, stingrays, and other unique aquatic life.

Highlights span a 10-foot underwater octopus, a lively under-water glowing frog, and as a special add-on, guests can pay to paint and take home their own pumpkin masterpiece. The Aquarium’s gift shop will also be selling various pumpkin-themed souvenirs for the occasion. Tickets start around $30, more information can be found online.

‘Million Dollar Quartet’ at Walnut Street Theatre

It’s the final weekend to check out Walnut Street’s latest show, which features the sounds of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Inspired by the actual events that took place on Dec. 4, 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis—where the four powerhouse musicians came together under the direction of Sam Phillips to create music as a group for the first and only time in their careers — the show will feature a ton of classic tunes from the “Golden Era” of music, including ‘Blue Suede Shoes,’ ‘Fever,’  ‘Walk the Line,’ ‘Sixteen Tons,’ ‘Who Do You Love?,’  ‘Great Balls of Fire,’ ‘Hound Dog,’ and more.
