Strong winds across Dallas and Tarrant counties continued to cause a string of power outages Wednesday.

Around 11,000 customers were affected by outages as of 6:00 p.m., according to the Oncor outage map. Most outages had expected restoration times between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, but some weren’t expected to be resolved until early Thursday morning.

Dallas-Fort Worth is under a wind advisory, issued by the weather service, until 6 p.m. Wednesday. A note on the outage map said Oncor was aware of the advisory and was working to restore power as quickly as possible. It also advised customers to call 911 if they see a downed power line and stay far away from it.

Several thousand customers also lost power on Tuesday, including Mockingbird Elementary School in DISD. After-school activities at the campus were canceled because of the power outage.
