PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Drivers in the East Valley may need to plan ahead as the Arizona Department of Transportation continues work on improvement projects.
On the Loop 101, northbound lanes will be closed between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.
Drivers in the Valley should be aware of some upcoming freeway closures this weekend as the Arizona Department of Transportation continues work on improvement projects.(ADOT)
Some on-ramps to the Northbound Loop 101 will be closed as well which include the ramps at Via De Ventura and 90th Street.
To get around the closure, alternate routes including westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain) to northbound State Route 51 will be available to reach the Loop 101. Traffic exiting northbound Loop 101 at Shea Boulevard can travel west to northbound Scottsdale Road.
On the Eastbound Loop 202, drivers can expect the Gilbert Road on-ramp to be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Sunday for a widening project.
Drivers can enter eastbound Loop 202 at Cooper or Lindsay roads to get around the closure.
