NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and the Fort Worth YMCA invite you to come trot with us at the 44th Annual Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. This year, the starting line moves to General Worth Square in downtown Fort Worth to accommodate the ever-growing popularity of the race, which benefits the Fort Worth YMCA.
The YMCA Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving tradition that brings out a number of individuals and families, some dressed in fun, Thanksgiving themed costumes. This family friendly races include a 5K race, an 8K race, and a child friendly 1K Gobbler Trot.
Everyone is welcome. Strollers and dogs are allowed!
The move to downtown Fort Worth’s General Worth Square is not only a reflection of the race’s popularity, but it also helps increase awareness as it moves to the more centrally located heart of the city. This gives participants iconic views of the Tarrant County Courthouse, Sundance Square, and the Trinity River.
The YMCA Turkey Trot is not just a race; it is a continued effort to help others. All proceeds from the race benefit the Fort Worth YMCA, which ensures access to the YMCA. The Fort Worth YMCA offers beneficial programs, such as afterschool care, early education, financial literacy for teens and seniors, and even supports critical health initiatives for cancer survivors and individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
