Dallas ISD is inviting families to get an up-close look at what the district has to offer during its largest school fair of the year.
The Discover Dallas ISD festival kicks off on Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Automobile Building at Fair Park.
The event is open to all families at no cost, with no registration required.
The event gives parents and students a one-stop opportunity to meet teachers, principals, and leaders from district campuses and programs. From magnet and Montessori schools to STEM, Career Institutes, and dual-language programs, families can explore the district’s wide range of academic pathways.
“This is one of Dallas ISD’s largest events of the year — an opportunity for parents and students to learn more about the schools and programs the district offers,” the district said in a statement. “Representatives from our 230 campuses and programs will be on-site to meet with families and assist with applications.”

Families can apply on-site for the 2026–2027 school year, including for specialized programs like Early College High School and Personalized Learning campuses. The online application portal will go live on Saturday on the district’s website.
In addition to school information booths, Discover Dallas ISD will feature several interactive areas designed to engage students and families. The district’s “Pre-K World” will include a mini playground where families can learn more about the benefits of early childhood education.
Skyline High School’s floral design students will be on hand, giving away free floral arrangements they’ve created on-site. It’s one of many programs that Dallas ISD leaders say parents might not know are available for students.

Families can also meet live animals, including bunnies and goats, from the district’s Environmental Education Center, and explore the robotics and drone programs. Live music, student performances and other activities for kids will be available.
District chefs and culinary arts students will be preparing free food for guests, including loaded nachos, brisket, sausage baskets, and funnel cakes.
Families are encouraged to come dressed in costume to celebrate the fall season.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available at Fair Park, and all families in Dallas and surrounding communities are welcome to attend.
