Chase Briscoe, one of the Championship 4 in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race, had tire trouble early in Stage 2 at Phoenix on Nov. 2.
Briscoe’s right rear on the No. 19 blew out, fortunately for Briscoe while the race was under caution. A Shane van Gisbergen spinout had brought out the yellow.
Briscoe was able to make it to pit road on the flat tire.
He had complained to his team on the radio about vibration leading to the tire issue. However, the vibration continued after the tire was replaced.
Briscoe is in the Championship 4 along with Denny Hamlin, William Byron and Kyle Larson. The tire issue dropped Briscoe behind the other three at 32nd.
