Rogers is offering WiFi 7 in Calgary, with plans to roll out the next-generation internet network in others areas of Canada later this year.
Rogers’ WiFi 7 network is available in select areas of Calgary through Rogers Xfinity, with Bret Leech, President, Residential, Rogers, noting that this is the “first in a series of launches this year to bring the latest technology to more Canadians.
WiFi 7 delivers “more speed, better coverage, and better adaptability for an ultra-reliable, ultra-low lag experience,” he adds.
In the last five years, internet usage in the home increased by more than 200%, according to Rogers. The average Canadian home now has more connected devices than ever, requiring powerful, secure WiFi connectivity for gaming, streaming, working, and connecting.
The new Rogers Xfinity router in Alberta is the company’s most powerful, says Rogers, capable of delivering multi-gig symmetrical speeds over WiFi with the ability to connect 200+ devices at one time. The router is available exclusively with Rogers Xfinity’s Pro 4G plan, delivering up to 4 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload speeds.
