PATH train service between New Jersey and 33rd St. in Manhattan was briefly suspended Monday afternoon as NYPD and Port Authority Police responded to a report of a suspicious package in the 14th St. station at Sixth Avenue.

All service between Hoboken and 33rd St. and Journal Sq. and 33rd St. was suspended around 2 p.m. as a result, with NJ Transit rail and bus lines cross-honoring PATH tickets.

A Port Authority spokeswoman said the scene was cleared around 3:45 p.m., after responding officers declared the suspicious item “inert.”

Photos from the scene showed officers holding what looked to be a circuit board connected to a work light.

The NYPD did not immediately respond to questions about the nature of the suspicious item.
