PHOENIX — Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Tuesday for a missing 57-year-old man from Phoenix.

Joseph Guaragna, who goes by Joe, walked away from his home near 31st Avenue and Butler Drive, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Guaragna was last seen Monday at 5 p.m. He was wearing a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, and red shorts over the sweatpants, DPS said.

He is 6 feet tall, weighs 160 pounds and is bald with gray facial hair and blue eyes.

Guaragna has a medical condition that can make him appear confused, DPS said.

Anybody with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-534-2121.

He’s not the only missing man Phoenix police need the public’s help in finding

This is the second SAFE Alert for an endangered senior stemming from the Phoenix Police Department this week.

On Monday, DPS issued a SAFE Alert for 67-year-old Carl Bellows, who was last seen riding his bike near 36th Street and Broadway Road in Phoenix around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
