PHOENIX — A police officer was involved in a crash in central Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon, according to the city’s police department.

Phoenix police said that an on-duty police officer was involved in a crash with another vehicle in the area of 1st and Jackson streets. The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police said the other driver remained on scene and was not injured in the crash. No other information regarding the driver’s identity or the cause of the crash was released.
The area will be closed for some time while police investigate.
