OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women’s basketball concludes its season-opening road trip to California on Wednesday evening with a 6:00 p.m. MT / 5:00 p.m. PT game at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley is coming off a season-opening victory over Cal State Bakersfield, 66-42 on Monday night in the Incardo Center. Halle Nelson finished with 18 points and nine boards going 8-for-11 shooting from the field. Tessa Chaney got off to a good start this season, scoring 14 points and grabbing six rebounds. Meanwhile, Preseason All-WAC selection Amanda Barcello recorded 14 points in 21 minutes, shooting 5-for-6 from the field and draining four 3-pointers on five attempts.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
Loyola Marymount is having their season opener when UVU visits. The Lions went 14-16 and 7-13 in the WCC last season. They were picked to finish ninth in the conference by the coaches. Maya Hernandez made the All-WCC Preseason Team after scoring 12.8 PPG and 7.8 RPG last season.
SERIES HISTORY VS. LMU
Utah Valley and LMU will meet for just the second time in program history on Wednesday. LMU won last year’s contest in Orem. This will be the first contest in Los Angeles between the two Western schools.

Utah Valley will travel on Tuesday, Nov. 11, for a 7:00 p.m. MT game against the Big 12’s Utah Utes up in Salt Lake City at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The Wolverines will then prepare for the Friday, Nov. 14 home opener against Pepperdine.
