Earlier this week, Garmin returned with new updates for its recent Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches (curr. $749 on Amazon). Rolled out as Beta Version 15.13 for the former and Beta Version 15.12 for the latter, the updates contained the same changelog with various bug fixes and a change that removed Garmin’s sleep mode shortcut.

Now, the company has transitioned both smartwatches to v15.16. Also on its Beta Program, the update appears to be only available via manual installation for the time being. Thus, one must navigate through the Main menu, Settings, System and Software Update by tapping ‘Check for Updates’ on a Beta Program-enrolled Forerunner 570 or a Forerunner 970 to begin the download of Beta Version 15.16 manually.

In a forum post, Garmin clarifies that Public Beta Version 15.16 resolves an issue where post-activity summary pages were skipped while auto-scrolling. Additionally, the company claims to have resolved a problem that caused a device reset when manually ending sleep mode. Moreover, the new update updates translations, albeit in undefined areas. Please see Garmin’s Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 forum posts for more details.
