JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Special Committee on Duval DOGE on Tuesday held a meeting on JTA’s autonomous vehicle program.

Councilmembers spent more than an hour grilling JTA on the NAVI riderless vehicle programs. Some councilmembers don’t feel it’s worth the money.
“Yeah, we should pull the plug,” Rory Diamond said. “$400 million program that has no tested tech, no real budget, no timelines. We’re a city of millions of people…”
Councilman Jimmy Paluso said he has questions as well.
“The system itself is fine, but right now there’s not enough ridership and the cost per rider seems way outside of what it should be,” Paluso said.
It’s unclear when there will be a vote, as this and other programs are being looked at regarding funding.
