Why wear a trench coat when you can wear a trench…dress? Sydney Sweeney put this theory to the test on Tuesday as she stepped out in New York City while promoting her new movie, Christy.

Sweeney donned a leather Sportmax mini featuring bold shoulders and a belted, single-breasted silhouette. She added on a pair of tan knee-high boots, completing her look with sunglasses and a top-handle Miu Miu purse. Sweeney wore her blonde bob in a straightened, flippy style.

The Euphoria star was dressed by stylist Molly Dickson, who also counts Ariana Greenblatt and Lana Del Rey as clients.

Last month, Sweeney paired her brand new bob with a strapless minidress that’s fit for fall. The actress shared a carousel of Instagram photos taken during the SCAD Savannah Film Festival in Georgia, where she promoted her latest project.

Two photos depicted Sweeney posing in front of a marquee, where she sported a Mimchik frock. The wool houndstooth design featured a thin brown belt wrapped around the bodice. She accessorized with round frames, sheer tights, and a pair of vintage knee-high Sergio Rossi boots.

“Thank you @savfilmfest for the spotlight award and an unforgettable day 💫,” Sweeney wrote in the caption.

Some of Sweeney’s famous friends, including actresses Julianne Moore and Leslie Mann (whose daughter, Maude Apatow, is Sweeney’s Euphoria co-star) took to the comments.

“👏👏👏,” wrote Moore.

“❤️,” added Mann.

Days earlier, Sweeney gave the red trend a cottagecore twist as she shared a new video on her Instagram Stories. She promoted her upcoming film The Housemaid in a short-sleeve red dress featuring a ruffled high neckline and an embroidered sheer chest panel.

Partaking in the “put a finger down” TikTok trend, Sweeney wore her dirty blond tresses in beachy waves. Her understated glam included white eyeliner along the waterline, coral blush, and nude lip liner.
