The Yankees may need some bullpen help this season if both Devin Williams and Luke Weaver walk in free agency.

In a recent Bleacher Report piece by Zachary D. Rymer, the Yankees SHOULD trade Spencer Jones forJeremiah Estrada:

“‘Who Says No?’ Trade Proposal:San Diego Padres get OF Spencer Jones; New York Yankees get RHP Jeremiah Estrada.”

The team that would say no in this deal is New York. The Padres need prospects after dealing away so many at the 2025 trade deadline.

The one flaw to Jones’s game is that he strikes out far too much, and that could be enough reason for the Yankees to want to move on in search of a certified MLB arm.

Jeremiah Estrada posted a 3.45 ERA in 77 appearances this season, and 108 strikeouts in 73 innings. Estrada also comes with a few seasons of control, which would allow New York to give him ample innings and playing time before deciding whether to commit to him or not.

Either way, expect the Yankees to be one of the more active teams in the player transaction market this offseason.
