There aren’t many people who know Tiger Woods better than Steve Williams.
Williams was right by the side of Woods for 13 of his 15 major championships, and the vast majority of his 82 PGA Tour wins.
The man from New Zealand caddied for the 49-year-old from 1999 through to 2011 before their acrimonious split 14 years ago.
Interestingly, Williams recently admitted that he would caddie for Woods again if given the chance.
That is in spite of the fact that the 15-time major champion fired the 61-year-old after he caddied for Adam Scott as a favour in 2011.

He then took the Australian’s bag on a full-time basis soon after.
Williams was then forced to apologise to Scott after the 2013 Masters champions won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and the New Zealander told reporters it was the best win of his life.
He was accused of stealing the limelight from Scott, something that he vehemently denied.
Despite all of that, Williams made his name, and the bulk of his fortune, through caddying for Woods, there is no denying that.

He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational eight times, and recorded the same amount of victories at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club.
However, it’s another golf course that is his personal favourite, according to Williams. Oh, and he’s won eight times around there as well by the way!
When speaking on GOLF’s Subpar Podcast, Williams responded when asked what golf course Tiger would pick to play if he had to win a tournament to save his life.
He said: “Torrey Pines. Obviously at Firestone he had a remarkable record but he just loved Torrey Pines. He had a bit of a fascination with that course because the first time he went to watch a golf tournament was at Torrey Pines, the Junior World was held there a number of times. And he just loved that course. It was a course that he said always suited his eye so when he said that a course suited his eye that was an indication of how much he loved the course.“
Tiger Woods’ record at Torrey Pines
He still holds the course record at Torrey Pines South Course, after he fired a 10-under par 62 in the third round of 1999 Buick Invitational.
His record in San Diego is unrivalled.

It’s little wonder why Woods would pick Torrey Pines if he had to win a golf tournament to save his life.
As Williams said, the golf course suits his eye perfectly, and his record proves just how comfortable he is when playing the William Francis Bell-designed gem.
