From one Slayer to another, Ryan Kiera Armstrong is learning everything she can from Sarah Michelle Gellar.

As the pair films Hulu‘s Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel series, Armstrong revealed the first thing Gellar told her as they began production, praising the Golden Globe nominee for her behind-the-scenes support.

“I can’t talk too much about Buffy,” she prefaced to Collider. “She’s just as lovely as she seems on camera. She’s such a great person. She went through Buffy. One of the first things she said to me was, ‘I will protect you. I’ll help guide you.’ It still gets me. I love Sarah.”

Originally running for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot is in production for Hulu, with Gellar returning as star and executive producer. Armstrong’s casting was announced in May.
