A man was found dead after firefighters extinguished a mobile home fire in northeast Houston late Thursday, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to a trailer behind a home in the 6000 block of Hopper Road near Homestead Road around 10:19 p.m.

After crews put out the flames, they found a man dead inside the trailer, according to officials.

Houston police homicide detectives and HFD arson investigators are now working together to determine how the fire started and what led to the man’s death.

Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity or said whether anyone else was inside the mobile home at the time.
