LAUREL, Md. (7News) — A Laurel man was arrested for his role in an illegal car rally during Super Bowl LVIII celebrations in Philadelphia, according to the Maryland Department of State Police.

Yariel M. Fuentes-Reyes, 19, of Laurel, Maryland, faces charges in Maryland for misdemeanors including possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a firearm without a serial number.

Maryland Car Rally Task Force executed a search warrant at Fuentes-Reyes’ residence in Laurel on July 3, with assistance from the Maryland State Police Special Tactical Assault Team Element (STATE) and the Philadelphia Police Department.

An unserialized Polymer 80 handgun was recovered during the search, according to police.

Fuentes-Reyes will be extradited to Pennsylvania, where he is charged with numerous felony and misdemeanor charges related to the car rally.
