When it comes to the First Coast’s high school football giants from the first quarter of the 21st century, there’s no shortage of contenders for Jacksonville bragging rights.
Through the years spanning from 2000-01 to 2024-25, Northeast Florida high school football has crowned more than 20 champions in the Florida High School Athletic Association playoffs, with standouts like future Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, multi-sport athletes DJ Stewart and Marquis Haynes and current NFL receiver DeMario Douglas among the stars of the show.
While the city is nearing four years since its last football championship, when Trinity Christian defeated Hialeah Champagnat in 2021, there’s always the chance that the coming fall will catapult another Northeast Florida squad into the history books.
Which of these teams is the best of the quarter-century?
Here’s your chance to vote for the best high school football champion team in Northeast Florida from 2000-01 to 2024-25. Participants can vote once per hour. The poll will remain open until 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10.
