A cold front is bringing dry air into Texas and with it come Red Flag warnings and a freeze watch.
The Freeze Watch is in effect until 9 am Monday for a large area of North and Central Texas, with residents asked to watch out for ice and gusty winds along with temperatures that could dip below 32 degrees, making hazardous driving conditions possible.
The possibility of dangers related to freezing temperatures extends south to Shreveport, Louisiana, and nearly to the Gulf Coast; a few portions of West Texas could see sub-freezing temperatures too, according to the National Weather Service.
Red Flag warnings, meaning conditions are ripe for fires because of low humidity and strong wind, are also up in Central Texas, but extend down into South and Southeast Texas.
The warnings for easy spreading of fire are being included in weather forecasts for Austin, San Antonio. Houston, and Corpus Christi.
