An arrest was made Friday in relation to an RV fire that left one woman and her dog dead last month, Dallas police said.

Lamont Richardson, 30, was arrested in Stearns County in Minnesota and booked into Stearns County jail, police said.

Richardson faces one charge of arson of habitation.

As of Saturday night, Richardson was still in jail with no bond amount set, according to court records.

On Oct. 19, Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived in the 10300 block of Eastwood Drive around 6:21 a.m. to see smoke billowing from an RV. The RV was parked next to a one-story house.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after to assist with traffic control.

The initial investigation determined the fire killed 68-year-old Leslie Denise McBride and her dog, afterwards spreading to a nearby house.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, and the two people in the house escaped uninjured.

No further details were immediately available.
