Grand Prairie police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting on Sunday that left one person dead, according to a news release from the department.

Courtlon Allen, 25, of Fort Worth, was arrested after the incident. It was not clear if Allen has an attorney.

At about 10 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at a home in the 1300 block of Daja Lane, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, the release said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Police said the suspect fled but was caught nearby.

Evidence recovered at the scene and witness statements point toward a possible altercation that escalated between the two involved, who apparently knew each other, police said.
