This story is incredible. It really has me choked up. Rosie is a baby elephant that has had a rough go of it. But the future finally looks bright. The baby was recently rescued by Elephant Havens in Botswana, Africa and is learning how to be part of the herd again. And an update on her progress has people so deeply touched.

Every animal deserves a happy life. And for Rosie this marks her second chance. Life can be good for the baby. She just needs to take it step by step.

A clip shared by the elephant rescue shows the girl taking a slow wander around the sanctuary. What a gentle spirit! You might not be able to tell that she’s had a tough time in the past. But the sanctuary was there to document her journey.

According to the caption, the once shy elephant has started exploring more and more on her own. She also started bonding with her handlers. But what’s really amazing is the way she’s learned to connect with her roots.

She’s been “rolling in the sand, splashing in the waterholes, and even playfully testing her limits with her new herd. It’s incredible to see her strength and personality shine through,” the caption states.

It’s possible that one day Rosie will make a full recovery. And people in the comments section are pulling for this sweet girl to be healthy and happy.

“Rosie and Joy deserve ALL the good things,” wrote one person, referring to another elephant at the sanctuary.

“Sweet baby,” one person gushed.

“Such a cute baby,” chimed in a third person.

“Beautiful girl,” another commenter cooed.
