Manchester United’s interest in the U17 World Cup is continuing with Brazilian superkid Felipe Morais, who has been the player of the tournament so far.

The U17 World Cup in Qatar is the most scouted competition of its kind, with the format of every game being at the Aspire Zone in Doha, making it easy for scouts to watch players.

Manchester United have had a keen interest in the performances of several teams and players, with Brazil and Argentina’s U17 sides attracting the most interest.

While much of Brazil’s talented U17 team are no doubt on the radar of Europe’s elite sides, United in Focus understands that this month Morais has emerged as a talent the Red Devils are very excited by.

United in Focus have been told, via Graeme Bailey, that Morais has impressed ‘everyone’ watching Brazil at the competition, and he has emerged as potentially the star of the tournament.

Who is your dream Manchester United signing in 2026?

United are among the clubs to have had their eyes caught by Morais, which speaks to his performances, as he wasn’t necessarily being tracked before the tournament like Dell was.

The Red Devils are aware of Morais’ situation, but competition will be huge for the talented 17-year-old as everybody will be keen to try and sign him, especially if these performances continue.

Morais has scored two goals in the competition, starting as Brazil’s attacking midfielder.

Who is Manchester United target Felipe Morais?

Morais is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder currently playing for Brazilian side Cruzeiro U20, with some performances for the first team already.

Morais is a number 10 by trade but can also play on either wing. He is capable of producing magic from this position, with goals and assists, but more impressively is his ball carrying and skill.

The teenager isn’t 18 until next summer, and so a deal won’t be imminent; however, if his performances continue at this level, he will quickly become a player sought after across the globe.

South America is becoming a market where United are increasingly willing to sign talented wonderkids from, and so signing Morais would be no shock.

Next, Morais and Brazil face Paraguay as he looks to continue performing to a high level and earn further admirers.
