Jacob Wilson, Brent Rooker, and Nick Kurtz are all coming off tremendous seasons. Both Wilson and Kurtz made MLB Pipeline’s 2025 All-Rookie Team, but that is not the only award Kurtz walked away with.

He was recently named AL’s Rookie of the Year, just edging out Wilson and Boston Red Sox slugger Roman Anthony. Things are starting to take a turn for this organization, and they have the perfect opportunity to build on that this offseason.

The A’s are often not a team to get really aggressive during the offseason. Usually, they are the team looking to trade anyone who would bring back a good return, but maybe not this offseason.

The club needs to add arms this offseason, both in the bullpen and to the starting rotation. Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller questions just how aggressive they will be and if this is the offseason where they take their next step.

“Are they going to risk letting this window pass them by and wait until two years from now when they’re in Las Vegas to really invest in the roster?”

This is as perfect a time as ever to invest in the roster that is starting to take shape. There are plenty of frontline starters they could add to pair with Luis Severino.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan suggested they go after Ranger Suarez, whose skill set could work well in that Sacramento ballpark that is not kind to pitchers. Committing to someone like that would help bolster the rotation and show the fanbase that they are serious about the product they are putting on the field.
