The start of meteorological winter is just weeks away in Alberta, and some parts of the province are staring down a chilly forecast with a decent amount of snow on the way.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), snowfall warnings are in effect for a large chunk of the Alberta Rockies, with heavy snow expected tomorrow, Nov. 13, 2025.
Forecasters note that total amounts of 15 to 30 centimetres may fall over higher elevations, with snow set to begin tomorrow afternoon and continue through the night.
The heaviest snow is expected over higher terrain, including parts of Highway 93, while lower elevations, including the communities of Banff and Jasper, should see little to no snow accumulation.

The warning added that snow will taper off Friday morning; however, roads and walkways will likely be challenging to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will also likely be reduced at times, while road closures could be possible.
“Allow extra time for travel,” the warning stated.
