The passion and everyday life of Irish dairy farming have once again been showcased through the entries received for the ‘This is Dairying’ Photo Competition, that was held ahead of the 2025 Teagasc Moorepark Dairy Open Day, on July 2nd.

The Moorepark Dairy Open Day is a key biannual event that highlights cutting-edge research and innovations across all areas of dairy farming.

We are delighted to announce the winners of this year’s photo competition at the Moorepark Dairy Open Day. The competition aimed to highlight the many reasons why dairy farming remains a rewarding career, and the dedication to future generations in dairying.

We received an overwhelming response with hundreds of inspiring photographs submitted, each one telling a unique story about the connection between farmers, their families and their herds.

Following careful judging, the selected winning photographs captured the essence of Irish Dairying.

The overall winning photograph was taken and submitted by Imelda Kinsella, Co. Kilkenny (picture below).
