A baby alligator was rescued from the Charles River in Boston this week.The New England Wildlife Center says the alligator, now named Charles, was pulled from the cold water Wednesday night by workers from Joe’s Crazzy Critters and then brought to the center for care.Veterinarians at the wildlife center determined Thursday that Charles has an upper respiratory infection. He’s now getting antibiotics and a warm, safe place to recover.Staff said it is likely Charles was released by someone who could no longer care for him.
