Members Only, the fashion brand known for its 1980s bomber-style jackets, is opening a bar and store on November 21 at 53 West Eighth Street (between Fifth and Sixth avenues) in Greenwich Village. The three-level bar is meant as a permanent hangout, not a pop-up, with a ground-floor room for cocktails and snacks, a mezzanine retail space, and a more secluded lounge below for late-night groups and private events.

The menu leans into nostalgia with riffs on drinks like the Blue Lagoon, a yuzu-spiked Long Island iced tea, and a Singapore Sling ($18), plus a shot list that runs from a Brain Hemorrhage to a Mind Eraser, alongside a short menu of bar food like gochujang fried chicken, tacos, oysters with wasabi granita, and chocolate bread pudding.

Librae Bakery at 35 Cooper Square, near East Sixth Street, will host a one-day chocolate pop-up on Saturday, November 15, when London-based pastry chef and chocolatier Philip Khoury lands in New York with his newest release in the “Chocolate Love Letters” series. Khoury, the former head pastry chef at London department store Harrods, and founder of the London chocolate studio Khourys, is unveiling the “New York” Chocolate Bar, a riff on American apple pie.

Encased in salted caramel chocolate, the bar layers cinnamon apple compote, crust, and toasted almonds, packaged in a red “love letter” box stamped with a New York postage mark. The bars will be available at Librae starting at 9 a.m., priced at $15, and sold until they run out.

Marshal takes Baar Baar space

Indian restaurant Baar Baar, from chef Sujan Sarkar and owners Rajiv and Payal Sharma, which opened in late 2017 at 13 East First Street between Second Avenue and Bowery, closed in September; now, per EV Grieve, the marshal has taken legal possession of the space on behalf of the landlord.

Another Carnegie Diner expansion

Carnegie Diner & Café owner Stathis Antonakopoulos is bringing his diner Downtown with an 8,450-square-foot outpost slated for 200 Chambers Street at West Street in Tribeca next summer, per the New York Post. The restaurant recently opened at Martinique New York Hotel, 1262 Broadway, at 32nd Street. It has eight locations.
