Books are coming to Burleson thanks to Barnes & Noble. The booming bookstore chain is opening a new location at 1107 N. Burleson Blvd., in the former Party City space, next to Famous Footwear, in Gateway Station, where it will offer more than 9,000 square feet of books, toys, games, magazines, gift items, and more.

According to a release, the new store will officially open to the public on November 19 at 10 am. As is their custom, they’ll feature a local author: Marcela Fuentes, who will cut the ribbon and sign copies of her debut novel, Malas.

The new Burleson Barnes & Noble is one of six new bookstores to open this week — one week after the bookseller opened its 50th new bookstore in 2025. In another milestone, Barnes & Noble now boasts over 700 bookstores, having been below 600 stores as recently as 2023.

Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will earn double stamps on all purchases made through grand opening weekend. Customers who are not yet members would be wise to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away. They will also receive a free tote on grand opening day.

Everyone who visits the new Burleson Barnes & Noble during the grand opening will have access to deals, like $50 off any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40 percent on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.

“We are very pleased to open this beautiful new Barnes & Noble in Burleson, one of two new bookstores we open in Texas this week,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “To do so in time for the height of holiday shopping is a cause for celebration. Our talented Burleson booksellers cannot wait to welcome customers into their brand-new Barnes & Noble.”

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers.

Having fallen below 600 locations as recently as 2023, it now has over 700 bookstores. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller will open more than 60 new bookstores in 2025.

The Burleson location is one of four new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in Texas in November, and one of 14 nationally, alongside stores opening in California, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.

Other store openings are as follows:

November 5: B&N Southpark Meadows Austin, 9600 I-35 #R
November 12: B&N Spring, 6600 Spring Stuebner Rd. #152, Grand Parkway Marketplace
November 19: B&N Brownsville, 2370 N. Express Way #2360, Sunrise Mall
Spring 2026: B&N Katy, 435 S. Fry Rd., Greentree Shopping Center

“I am delighted to be part of the team bringing Barnes & Noble to the Burleson community,” says store manager Rebecca Ruiz, who has been a Barnes & Noble bookseller for 28 years. “More bookstores is always a beautiful thing!”
