Participants in the 2025 Susan G. Komen San Diego 3-Day began their 60-mile walk Friday morning to raise funds and fight breast cancer.
SAN DIEGO — San Diegans and supporters from across the country are participating in the 2025 Susan G. Komen San Diego 3-Day, a three-day, 60-mile walk taking place Friday, November 14 to Sunday, November 16.
This year’s event, which CBS 8 proudly partners with, requires walkers to cover an average of 20 miles per day over three consecutive days while educating their communities about breast health.
Participants in the event have each committed to raising a minimum of $2,300 to support Susan G. Komen’s mission of saving lives and ending breast cancer. According to the organization, Komen programs will use these funds to remove barriers to screening and diagnostics, providing people with breast health education, information on treatment, financial support and psychosocial support programs.
The San Diego event is part of the 2025 Susan G. Komen 3-Day Series, which includes four events across the country. Since 2003, the Komen 3-Day has raised more than $915 million nationally. The San Diego event alone has already contributed to the total of more than $166.4 million raised in the fight against breast cancer, according to Susan G. Komen.
The opening ceremony for the San Diego event took place on Friday, November 14, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The closing ceremony will be held Sunday, November 16, at 4 p.m. at Waterfront Park.
Community members are encouraged to show support by gathering at designated cheering stations along the route throughout various San Diego neighborhoods.
For specific cheering station locations, event details, and updates throughout the weekend, visit the organization’s website or follow the event on social media.
