The Nashville Predators forward, from Ostervala, Sweden, wore a traditional Swedish hat with the coat, trousers and shoes to go along with it.
“It’s local – I don’t even know how to describe it – local traditional outfit from Leksand. It’s called Leksandsdrakt,” Forsberg said. “They wear them for holidays, they go back I don’t know exactly the history, I have to do a little research on that, but it goes way back. They wear it for midsummer especially around where we’re from. I think that’s where kind of the thought process started in summer. My friend is the mayor over there, so he was able to pull it off from the House of Culture, I guess that’s the best translation to it, and really it worked out well.”
The Predators defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in overtime on Friday in the first of two games of the Global Series. The second game is on Sunday (9 a.m. ET; FDSNSO, SN-PIT, NHLN, SN).
Only time will tell what outfit Forsberg brings on Sunday, but for now, we’ll just say this one is a pretty Swede look.
