PHOENIX — A man was killed in an overnight shooting in Phoenix early Saturday morning, authorities said.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the area of 19th Drive and Northern Avenue for reports of a shooting just before 2 a.m.

When police arrived on scene, they reportedly found an adult man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Police said that the man was pronounced dead on scene, but did not release his identity.

The area remained closed as detectives investigated the fatal shooting, according to Phoenix police.

No other information was provided.
