Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Black Friday discounts are hard to find (with the exception of last year’s iPhone 16 price drops). Mint Mobile, however, is running a promotion that is worth taking seriously. The carrier has released a solid iPhone 17 Pro Max discount promotion right now. The only commitment is a 12-month contract at $15 a month, paid upfront.

Update November 15th: The Ultra-Cheap $299 Apple iPhone 16e Black Friday Price at Verizon
Update November 15th 8:17 am: The Mint Mobile deal remains the best—and arguably the only—true iPhone 17 Pro Max deal available right now. If, however, you are looking for an ultra-cheap Apple handset, the iPhone 16e has been discounted across a few retailers.
The best Black Friday iPhone deal I have seen so far is a prepaid offer at Verizon. The carrier has discounted the iPhone 16e by $300, bringing the final price down to $299. That is by far the cheapest upfront price you will find for Apple’s budget phone.
Now, this does not come with a lengthy contract that adds hundreds of dollars to your total three-year cost. But there is a slight catch with this Verizon Black Friday iPhone deal.
To trigger the offer, buyers still have to purchase a Verizon prepaid plan. The cheapest I can find starts at $35 a month, which is not the best value. You will find much better plans, under $20 a month, for a SIM-only service from Mint Mobile, Lyca, and others. You will not, however, find the iPhone 16e handset for much cheaper than $299.
The good news is that you can switch to another carrier after two months, which is the mandatory minimum device lock-in period at Verizon. For those looking for a U.K. deal without a contract, Amazon U.K. has knocked £35 off ($46) the iPhone 16e, bringing the price down to £509 ($669): a 6% discount.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Discount for Black Friday
I like this deal because the details are clear and the pricing is straightforward. Mint Mobile has knocked $200 off the iPhone 17 Pro Max. To get that discount, buyers must sign up for the $15 a month unlimited data plan for 12 months.

This can be paid upfront, with the phone and contract totalling $1,179. That’s it. No shackle around your neck that charges upwards of $100 per month for a contract that adds an extra $1000 to your iPhone’s price over the course of three years, as you will find with most other major carriers. Here’s the Mint Mobile iPhone 17 Pro Max deal breakdown.
- The iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB costs $1,199.
- Mint Mobile discounts the phone to $999 (a $200 saving).
- The 12 months of unlimited data costs $180 ($15 per month).
- The total upfront cost for the phone and service is $1,179.
$200-off is a solid iPhone 17 Pro Max discount. It matches recent Google Pixel 10 sales but pales in comparison to a recent $600 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 deal.
It is, however, the only straightforward iPhone 17 Pro Max price drop available right now, which costs $1,199 if bought directly from Apple unlocked. Twelve months of unlimited data for $180 is also a good deal. It’s worth pointing out that users who consume more than 35GB of data a month will have their internet speeds throttled.
Mint Mobile Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Trade-In Values
Mint Mobile accepts select trade-ins, and the pricing isn’t far off what Apple will pay for the same phones. Here’s a selection of trade-in prices compared to Apple’s:
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: Mint Mobile price: $243, Apple price: $300
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: Mint Mobile price: $307, Apple price: $370
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: Mint Mobile price: $380, Apple price: $470
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Mint Mobile price: $138, Apple price: $165
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Mint Mobile price: $238, Apple price: $260

Mint Mobile’s valuations actually beat Samsung’s in a few places, too. For example, the Korean company will only pay $240 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max compared to Mint’s $243. It is a similar story with the iPhone 14 Pro Max, with Samsung offering $265 to Mint’s $307. Samsung values the iPhone 15 Pro Max higher, though, at $430. I suspect Mint Mobile has better pricing for phones that are more likely to be traded in when buying the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max: a calculation it would have made when deciding on trade-in prices.
