PHOENIX — A man has been arrested in connection with an overnight shooting that left a man dead early Saturday morning, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department identified 42-year-old Craig Poorthunder as the man in custody. He faces a second-degree murder charge.
Police have not released the identity of the man who was killed in the shooting.
Details on overnight shooting in Phoenix
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the area of 19th Drive and Northern Avenue for reports of a shooting just before 2 a.m.
When police arrived on scene, they reportedly found an adult man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Police said that the man was pronounced dead on scene.
The area remained closed as detectives investigated the fatal shooting, according to Phoenix police.
No other information was provided.
