A cane-toting man sparked up a conversation with a guy on the street in The Bronx on Saturday — and shot him before disappearing into the night, police said.

The incident unfolded around 8:45 p.m., when the shooter walked up to his 38-year-old victim in front of 1550 University Ave. in Morris Heights and struck up a conversation, cops said Sunday.

It’s not clear if the two men knew each other.
