PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A serious crash that happened after freeway hit-and-run is causing a road closure Monday morning in west Phoenix.
First responders were called to the crash around 4 a.m. near 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street. They found a red SUV that had crashed into two semi trucks, then caught fire and was badly damaged.
At least two people have been taken to the hospital from this crash. Their conditions were not provided.

The intersection of 75th Avenue and Van Buren is blocked as an investigation is ongoing.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) spokesperson confirmed it is investigating a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 10 that happened shortly before the crash at 75th Avenue and Van Buren. They also confirmed both crashes are connected.
Arizona’s Family spoke with the person who said his his vehicle was struck by the red SUV on Interstate 10 before the crash happened off the freeway.
