Durham Regional Police say three firefighters are seriously injured after being hit by an approaching vehicle while on the scene of a crash.
Three volunteer firefighters were hospitalized after police say they were struck by a vehicle while responding to a crash scene in Uxbridge.
First-responders were called to the area of Wagg Road and Highway 47 on Sunday night for a reported collision.
Three firefighters who responded to the scene were struck by an approaching vehicle, according to police.
They were taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries but non-life-threatening injuries. One of the injured members has since been released from hospital.
A driver involved in the initial crash was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The area was closed to traffic for several hours for the police investigation.
