WNBA champion A’ja Wilson is undoubtedly going through the best part of her career after clinching her third title with the Las Vegas Aces as well as a record-breaking fourth league MVP award this year.
Now, Wilson has revealed the impact of the support system offered by her boyfriend, NBA star Bam Adebayo, through the season. And the Aces player has nothing but high praises for him as her biggest cheerleader.
She made this known during an interview with Robin Roberts while appearing as a guest on the “Good Morning America” show on Thursday.
When asked how they have been able to support themselves as professional athletes, Wilson said (Timestamp: 4:20):
“It’s just what we do. I think that’s our foundation that we just built when our relationship kind of first started and we were just like, you know, this isn’t going to be easy.
“Obviously, with our schedules and lifestyle, but at the end of the day, if we want it to work, we’re going to make it work for each other… So, he’s in my eyes, he’s perfect.”

A’ja Wilson also stated that she feels Bam Adebayo is the right person for her, with the level of regular support he gives.
“Obviously, he’s human. But you know, the support that he gives always, it’s incredible to think that I’ve kind of met my match,” she added.
Adebayo and Wilson first sparked dating rumors last year when they were spotted spending time together ahead of the Paris Olympics in which they both competed in.
In January 2025, Bam Adebayo wore Wilson’s signature Nike shoe on the court during a game between the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets.
Then in February this year, the Aces player publicly confirmed their relationship during her jersey retirement at the University of South Carolina.
The power couple have since been seen multiple times publicly and have continued to support each other in important moments, with both social media posts and courtside appearances.
Adebayo even compared the WNBA star to NBA legend Bill Russell last month following her title-winning season, another sign of his undying love and support for her.
