SAN ANTONIO – Crews worked quickly to knock down the flames of a fire that broke out in a vacant home on the West Side.

Around 7:10 on Monday, firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire near the corner of Vara Cruz and Southwest 19th Street, on the West Side.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the home, and worked quickly to stop the fire from spreading.

The fire was contained in about 20 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
