Major flooding continues along Guadalupe River

6 to 10 inches of rain has fallen in Kerr County

WATCH LIVE COVERAGE IN VIDEO ABOVECURRENT WARNINGS

  • Flash Flood Emergency has been extended for the Guadalupe River from Hunt, through Kerrvile and Center Point. This is a dangerous situation and are encouraged to seek higher ground immediately.

  • Flash Flood Warning issued for Bandera, Kerr county until 3 pm.

  • River Flood Warnings are in effect for Medina River at Bandera, Guadalupe at Comfort, Guadalupe at Kerrville

  • Flood Advisories and Flood watch until 7 PM Friday for many counties across South Central Texas.

  • MORNING RAIN IN SAN ANTONIO: Flooding not likely for SA, light rain lingers into the early afternoon

  • FIREWORKS FORECAST: We’ll be watching for any rain, however chances are low

GUADALUPE RIVER FLOODING

It’s been a horrible morning for those along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County. Overnight, over 8 inches of rain fell in the area, resulting in major flooding along the river. We will continue to keep everyone posted on this story here.

River Update as of 12:30 PM

  • Guadalupe at Hunt: Already crested it appears at 29.45 Ft in Major flood stage, currently went back tonight along Minor/Moderate stage

  • Guadalupe at Kerrville: Crested at 23.40 (Major flood stage) last night after midnight, and went back up to currently in Moderate stage at 16.70 Ft

  • Guadalupe at Comfort: Already crested at 34.76 ft. Currently in Major Flood stage.

  • Guadalupe at Spring Branch: Forecasted to hit Moderate Stage of 37 FT after Midnight Tonight

SAN ANTONIO 4th FORECAST

Light rain will continue until the early afternoon for the San Antonio metro area, potentially impacting outdoor 4th of July plans. However, things are likely to dry out in time for firework displays after sunset.
