As the festive season approaches, there’s no better way to embody the spirit of giving than to make a meaningful impact on one of our beloved local nonprofits. San Antonio Magazine is honored to bring back “SA Gives,” a guide dedicated to the beloved organizations in our community who work tirelessly to uplift and empower our neighbors.
To lend a hand to the organizations helping our community, we are awarding 2026 media grants to three local nonprofits, selected by you, our esteemed readers. Head to our voting page to cast your ballot for your favorite organization and help them gain the exposure they need to continue to make a difference in our community. Voting is open until December 31.
As the year comes to a close, we hope you’ll join us in supporting these nonprofits and strengthening the heart of San Antonio.
All Hearts On Deck
San Antonio wins together when we support local nonprofits.
Local nonprofits provide vital services to our community that impact every single resident. From housing, health and human services to workforce development, cultural experiences and every mission in between, nonprofits serve the needs of our community from the ground up. Our local economy and our ability to advance as a community relies on the strength of our nonprofit ecosystem. All Hearts on Deck is a movement that calls all San Antonians to stand together and support the nonprofits that support us.
Americans United for Separation of Church and State
For nearly 80 years, Americans United has defended church-state separation in the courts, legislatures, and in the public square.
We bring together people of all religions and none to protect everyone’s freedom to live as themselves and believe as they choose — and stop anyone from using their beliefs to harm others.

Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL)
The Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) is a non-profit organization that rescues homeless dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, and provides medical treatment, nutrition, and shelter in a safe, live-release facility until they are matched with their forever families.
Through community education and empowerment, we advocate for responsible pet ownership.
Brooke’s Blossoming Hope
Our mission is to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer by raising global public awareness of childhood cancer through service project, education and advocacy initiatives; and to raise money for research primarily for earlier detection, newer treatments, and cutting edge, targeted therapies and cures for pediatric cancer that will be gentler and more tolerable through all stages: discovery, diagnosis, treatment, and remission.
Mental health treatment for kids and teens
Clarity Child Guidance Center serves over 6,000 children ages 3-17 annually with mental health conditions, offering inpatient care, 24/7 crisis services, partial hospitalization, outpatient therapy and therapeutic art/play. Donations ensure essential mental health treatment, regardless of ability to pay.
Hope at Heart Foundation
We Deliver LOVE, HOPE, & JOY
We understand the all-encompassing impact of this diagnosis. It’s not just the child battling for their life – it’s the entire family unit grappling with immense emotional turmoil, financial strain, and a life put on hold.
Our programs are designed to address the unique needs of each family, from financial assistance through Blessing’s Way to compassionate care for families grieving the loss of a child to cancer.
We believe that no family should have to choose between keeping the lights on and staying by their child’s side in the hospital. No child and no family should face cancer without a community behind them.
At Hope at Heart, we put the heart where the hurt is, providing relief, dignity, and strength to families who deserve all three.

Celebrating our shared humanity by providing access to global arts for all
Musical Bridges Around the World brings music and cultural understanding to San Antonio through live and interactive concerts, festivals, and educational programs.

Room Redux
Where healing and transformation go hand in hand
Room Redux is a nonprofit organization that focuses on transforming the rooms of children who have faced sexual or physical abuse. Room Transformation can be a powerful tool to foster healing, as many times abuse occurs in a child’s room or bed, making the room itself feel unsafe. As a result, children may stop sleeping, start acting out or may become depressed, avoiding their room entirely. Through donations and grants, Room Redux fully transforms children’s rooms so they will feel comfortable and safe. A new room= a new start.
Room Transformations help children recover from abuse by turning painful places into peaceful sanctuaries filled with safety, love, and care.

Transforming Tomorrow Together

For over 40 years, SJRC Texas has been committed to providing vulnerable children and families with the care and resources they need to overcome their challenges and thrive as they look to the future. From our foster care residential treatment program to our adoption program, and so much more, we have successfully transformed the lives of more than 72,000 children, giving them hope, stability, and a chance at a better life.
San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition
SAFCC is a volunteer driven nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing cat overpopulation in San Antonio through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), rescue, and public education.
Our vision is to ensure no kittens are born wild on the street, no adoptable cat is without a home, and no outside cat goes without food, water, or care. We empower the community with TNR education, a Helpline for support, subsidized spay/neuter surgeries, trap loans, and fostering for adoptable cats. Our work is sustained entirely by donations and grants, and we rely on community support to continue creating an environment where every cat is treated with compassion.
