Houston pushes near record-breaking heat again. But when do we finally say goodbye to the 80s?

  • November 19, 2025

Watch out for some thick fog across most of the area for the rest of the morning. Visibility will be highly impacted through 9am. From record highs to wet weather:

The good news? Starting Wednesday, our chances for rain start to increase, which is a much-needed change form the past few weeks. Streaming showers in from the coast will bring in a few storms from time to time.

Late Week Front:

We’re tracking a front that will knock us back into seasonable temperatures next week with a solid chance for rain. Of course, the timing can change – heavy rain, gusty winds and minor flooding are all possible.

Flooding and Drought at the Same Time?

That’s our big concern with the front we’re tracking late week. After flirting with record-breaking heat the past several days, our dirt is bone-dry. So any decent rain won’t soak in—it’ll have nowhere to go, raising the flood risk even if the totals don’t look extreme on paper.

Behind Thursday’s cold front, temperatures will continue to fall back in the 70s. The next time we’re waking up in the 50s looks to be this weekend! There will also be an additional rainmaker next mid-week that could bring in some messy driving conditions if you’re heading out before the holiday.
