LOS ANGELES – Two people ae hospitalized after a box truck slammed into a South Los Angeles commercial building Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. at Credential Lighting, located at Alameda Street and 21st Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The company designs and manufactures commercial lighting fixtures.
The crash occurred just as workers started arriving for their shifts, officials said, and firefighters had to extricate some employees out of the building and transport them to the hospital.
The impact of the crash resulted in downed power lines, which knocked out power in the area.
Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety crews are on the scene to assess whether the structure is stable and whether part of that building may need to be shut down or reinforced.
