The city of Anaheim Friday held its annual Fourth of July celebration, with its fan-favorite program taking the center stage.
As part of the Yankee Doodle Dog show, Anaheim residents brought their dogs in their best Fourth of July costumes.
“Yankee Doodle Dog is the most patriotic dog contest, “ said Mike Lyster from the city of Anaheim.
From small Pugs to large Goldendoodles, dozens of dogs were seen wearing their Independence Day-theme clothes, scarves and accessories.
The city had the largest number of registrations for its overall Fourth of July event with more than 1,650 sign-ups.
“It is, in some ways, a challenging time for many people, but this is a reminder of a little bit of fun for everybody to take a moment and enjoy a really great community celebration,” Lyster said.
