“She envisioned something dark and moody with a tropical edge to honor the beach backdrop,” Matteo says. “She wasn’t sure how to put it into words, but she knew the vibe — and we ran with it. Tropical, sultry, and deeply personal, the entire design reflected her and David as a couple. An intimate evening with their closest friends and family — no fuss, no frill — just a celebration that felt authentically and unmistakably like the two of them.”

Approximately 100 of the couple’s closest friends and family members were in attendance, including radio host Shannon Gunz, Mudvayne’s Chad Gray, Avenged Sevenfold’s Matt Sanders, chef Chris Santos, and Disturbed members Dan Donegan, Mike Wengren, and John Moyer. Actor Jeffrey Damnit officiated the ceremony.

Matteo says it “was an honor” to plan such an “intimate, moody, and effortlessly cool” event.

“Celebrations like this, built on trust and true personal style, are the ones that stay with you,” she shares, adding that the day was “was truly a reflection of who they are as a couple,” with Uli telling her she “killed it” and Draiman remarking he was “super thankful.”

“From the very beginning, she trusted the process and let us lean fully into the dark, atmospheric tones, layered textures, and subtle tropical elements that brought the entire design to life,” Matteo says of bringing Uli’s vision to life. “And seeing it all come together — the glow, the depth, the emotion — was magic.”

Wedding photos and videos, captured by I Thee Wed, show that the wedding party dressed in black for the ceremony with bridesmaids holding bouquets of white anthurium. Uli wore a strapless ball gown with lacy, floral details, accessorizing with a sparkling necklace and styling her long, dark tresses in flowy waves. She carried a bouquet of white roses, which also appeared in the altar, popping against leafy, green foliage accents.

Meanwhile, the heavy metal rocker wore a classic suit and became visibly emotional as his bride walked down the aisle toward him. He described his wedding as an “amazing day” in one post, and his new wife as a “goddess” in another post.

Uli reciprocated the love on social media by gushing that Draiman is the “love of my life.”

The bride’s sister, Rachel, was the “best maid of honor ever,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “You did so much for me,” Uli said of her sibling. “I owe you the world.”

The couple received lots of love on their wedding day photo “spamming” spree, including from friends in the music world. In the comments, Moyer wrote, “Beautiful wedding.” On a post the groom shared ahead of his nuptials, Chris Daughtry, famed guitarist Nita Strauss and the official account for the band Godsmack congratulated the couple.

The newlyweds, who went public with their romance in early 2024, announced their engagement just over six months ago. The singer popped the question onstage during a Disturbed concert.

The frontman surprised his now-wife with the sweet gesture during a show at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, on May 9, as part of Disturbed’s tour honoring the 25th anniversary of their debut album, The Sickness.

After calling the model to the stage, Draiman joked that “she’s wondering, ‘What the f— is he doing?’ ”

Then, he got more serious, telling her, “Sarah, my love, you have made my life so much better. You are the light in the darkness for me. I love you more than anything I have ever loved in this world, and it would be the absolute pinnacle of my life and my existence…”

The rocker then got on one knee, microphone in one hand and a ring box in the other, and asked, “Sarah Uli, will you marry me?” After the pair shared a kiss, Draiman turned to the crowd to confirm: “In case you didn’t hear, she said, ‘Yes.’ ”
