Meghan King and Jim Edmonds are parents to three children.

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum and the former professional baseball player, who were married from 2014 to 2019, share daughter Aspen and twin sons Hart and Hayes. The former couple welcomed Aspen on Thanksgiving Day in 2016 and later became a family of five with twin sons Hart and Hayes’ birth in June 2018.

After King and Edmonds separated in 2019, they finalized their divorce in May 2021. While King initially moved on and was briefly married to Cuffe Biden Owens for two months, Edmonds wed his wife, Kortnie Edmonds, in 2022.

King reportedly lost custody of her kids after an investigation by Child Protective Services, several outlets reported in November 2025. Edmonds subsequently received sole physical custody, while King was granted supervised visitation. The decision is temporary, and the arrangement will be reviewed in a hearing that is scheduled to take place in early December.

Edmonds and King married in October 2014 and welcomed their first child together, daughter Aspen King Edmonds, on Nov. 24, 2016. The former couple came up with the name while reflecting on memorable moments together.

“We were at our house in Idaho and we were just talking about names. And there’s Aspen trees right outside the window of our house and we said, ‘What about Aspen?’ and that was it,” King told the Daily Dish in 2017. “We thought it sounded feminine and unique, but not crazy out there. So we both really liked it.”

They also decided to make her middle name King, because it was a way of including both of their surnames without changing her last name.

When Aspen turned 8 years old in November 2024, King posted a collage video with throwback videos of her as a baby — including a video of Aspen eating a whole onion.

“Eight years ago I gave birth to the greatest joy I’ve ever known,” she captioned the Instagram post. “It was on that Thanksgiving that I learned what it truly meant to be thankful, and I’ve been laughing and crying (this kind of crying: 😭 😂) ever since.”

The real estate agent described her eldest child as “graceful, strong, fearless, resilient, beautiful, and the happiest, smiliest angel princess.”

The former couple expanded their family when they welcomed twin sons, Hart King Edmonds and Hayes King Edmond, on June 5, 2018. She later explained in a since-deleted blog post that both sons are named after their loved ones.

“Both are family names: Hayes (who looks like Jimmy) is Jimmy’s great-grandma’s maiden name, Hart (who looks like me) is my great-great-great grandpa’s first name,” she wrote at the time. “Our family is now completely complete.”

Just like Aspen, the boys also received King as their middle names — which was “a given,” per King.

Although the boys are twins and born on the same day, Hayes was born about 45 minutes before Hart, and King initially switched up their names.

“When Hayes arrived I immediately named him ‘Hart.’ Then Hart arrived and I said, ‘This one is Hart.’ So I switched their names,” she wrote on Instagram for their 7th birthday in June 2025. “They love the story about when they used to have the other ones’ name.”

Over the years, King has reflected on how Hart and Hayes have grown up and have posted pictures of the boys bowling, sledding, goofing off with their sister, playing sports and swimming in the ocean.

Despite being twins and having a close bond, King revealed that she has requested they study in different classrooms to “learn how to thrive without their favorite other half.”

“They aren’t totally comfortable with where their new classrooms are located but are glad to be in that place of fear together – it feels good to know you aren’t alone, even grown-ups can relate,” she captioned a picture of her holding hands with them walking to school in August 2024.
