Warning: This article includes SPOILERS for Hazbin Hotel season 2!
Hazbin Hotel creator Vivenne Medrano gave a disappointing timeline update for season 3 of the Prime Video show, but it’s actually secretly a good thing. For misfits, musical theater geeks, and queer folks, Hazbin Hotel has been the go-to show for community and entertainment.
The second season of the adult animated TV show just finished, with a climactic finale, and fans are already clamoring for more episodes. After all, there are so many new developments in the story. Lute is still out for blood. Heaven and Hell both know that redemption is possible in the Helluvaverse.
Plus, Angel’s devastating season 2 ending needs more exploration. In the final moments of the season, Charlie also gets a phone call from her mother, Lilith, for the first time in 7 years. Sadly, it will be a while before Hazbin Hotel season 3 debuts on Prime Video.
Hazbin Hotel Season 3’s Wait Will Be The Same As Season 2

1 year and 8 months passed between the finale of Hazbin Hotel season 1 and the debut of season 2, which became a source of contention for fans. Long waits are becoming more of the norm across all streaming platforms, which can get annoying. Though it’s understandable, since animation takes a lot more time than live-action shows.
Unfortunately, when asked about the Hazbin Hotel season 3 timeline, Vivienne Medrano gave a disappointing update. While they have made progress, Medrano said, “I would say [it will be] a similar wait for Season 3…but less of a wait for Season 4 because they were greenlit together.”
Based on this estimate, Hazbin Hotel season 3 will most likely debut in the summer of 2027. This might feel frustrating, but it’s actually a good thing in the long run.
Hazbin Hotel Season 2’s Wait Was Worth It Because Of The Quality

Hazbin Hotel season 2 might have taken a long time, but the wait paid off. The second season has stronger storytelling with only one filler episode. The characters are better developed, with many new backstories to dissect. Plus, Hazbin Hotel season 2’s songs have better musical and lyrical composition, leaning into the vocal strengths of the actors.
There were fewer plot holes and logical inconsistencies in the narrative. We had a strong villain, though Vox got too many songs in the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack. Plus, the characters were explored with much more nuance, instead of feeling one-dimensional. Ultimately, the audience might not have received the top-notch storytelling if the team rushed to put out Hazbin Hotel season 2.
Hazbin Hotel Season 3’s Wait Will Ensure The Storytelling & Animation Stay Great

Ultimately, the long wait time between Hazbin Hotel seasons 2 and 3 is secretly a good thing because it will allow the creative team to focus on telling the best story possible. The actors can give their best performances. The animators won’t have as much pressure to cut corners or rush to finish the episodes.
Nearly two years might not be ideal, but it will be worth it if they continue to do the Hazbin Hotel story and characters justice. Plus, in the meantime, fans can enjoy Helluva Boss season 3, which is loosely projected for a 2026 release.
