Man shot in leg on Johnson Avenue, JSO investigating

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened Friday evening on Johnson Avenue.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of an adult male who had been shot.

JSO said the victim was driving on the 2300 block of Johnson Avenue when an unknown individual fired multiple shots at his vehicle.

One bullet struck the vehicle and caused a single gunshot wound to the man’s leg.

JSO said the injury is non-life-threatening.

The man drove himself to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The victim was unable to describe the suspect, according to JSO.

Detectives found two cartridge cases in the middle of Johnson Avenue during their investigation.
